Two of the most revolutionary concepts that have shaped and transformed the world are entrepreneurship and commitment. Studies have shown that countries that have a strong entrepreneurship ethic continually outperform the GNP growth that countries that have less entrepreneruship effort. Moreover, countries and communities that work within a "commitment" ethic (in that managing and keeping commitments) typically, again, show the most fundamental long term, stable growth and wellness. In the recognition that through supporting an individual entrepreneur, and communities of entrepeneurs manage and make commitments, Kevin Koym left the previous startup company at which he had been Vice President of Professional Services to start a company that built social networking software focused around the building and support of companies and communities of commitments. Kevin set off to build software in the social networking arena, but with specific focus for building communities supported by commitments. The first year of this journey took Kevin to Chile, to study with Fernando Flores, around how a culture of commitment and entrepreneurship was being applied to the country of Chile. In the early stages of deployment of the first round of software, Kevin was introduced to John Thornborrow, first as a prospective client for the software company that John was CFO and COO at... This relationship quickly progressed where John first was a client, then became an advisor to the company, and finally joined the firm as a partner in the business. John is responsible for bringing the work of Patrick Lencioni (author of The Five Dysfunctions of a Team) into the Enterprise Teaming model. Now, drawing on the lessons of John Seely Brown, Patrick Lencioni, and Fernado Flores, Kevin and John and an extended network of consultants, coaches, and third parties are actively building organizational capabilities through the application of networks of commitments throughout the world. |
